Michaela Morgan was born in Manchester. She studied English at the University of Warwick and education at the University of Leicester. She enjoyed teaching for many years before becoming a full-time writer. She was named International Reading Association Children's Choice in 2008 and won the United Kingdom Reading Association's 1995 Award.
