Barassi's Blues

Author(s): Miles Wilks

Sport

Barassi’s Blues outlines how Ron Barassi led Carlton to premiership success in 1968 and broke a lengthy premiership drought of 21 years. The team of ‘68 featured legendary names such as Nicholls, Jesaulenko, Walls and Silvagni.

This book covers the role Ron Barassi had in Carlton’s premiership success and the significant contributions from the underrated winger Gary Crane and the full-forward Brian Kekovich. It also delves into the bitter rivalry with Richmond and provides a re-appraisal of the undervalued 1968 Grand Final.

Over 170 rarely seen photographs of some of Carlton’s greatest players feature and there is a photographic contribution from some of the players including John Goold, Bryan Quirk & Gary Crane amongst others.
